Holzindustrie Schweighofer (HS), one of Europe’s leading timber processing companies, informed that the company passed in Romania 16th inspection in accordance with the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) regulation on April 24, 2019.
According to the announcement, the result of this control, which took place in the Sebes sawmill was positive for the company. In the course of these EUTR inspections, the authorities verify whether companies are doing everything possible to prevent the sale of unlawfully harvested timber.
The aim was to ensure that only legally harvested timber is placed on the European Single Market.
Holzindustrie Schweighofer has three sawmills and two wood panel production plants in Romania.
