Timber trade in Finland continued brisk in September, with the total volume five per cent higher than the average for the previous five years. In standing sales, prices of softwood logs fell by two per cent from August. The price of birch pulpwood rose by two percent, ending up six per cent higher than the average price for the whole of last year in real terms.  The recorded volume of Finnish timber trade in private forests remained at 4.2 million cubic meters in September.
