During the Q1 of 2016, Germany’s sawn beech lumber exports decreased by 2%, compared to the same period of 2015. Exports to China decreased the most (-18% or by 6,500 m3 ), followed by Poland and Belgium. Overall, the exports to the EU decreased by -10%, reaching 35,671 m3 compared to 39,783 m3 in Q1/ 2015. Also, German sawn beech exports to the Asian countries decreased from 45,923 in Q1 2015 amounting 42,020 cbm in the Q1 2016 (or by -8%).
