Producer prices for German KVH (Konstruktionsvollholz; solid construction timber) were 5 percent lower in July than in the same month of last year. German manufacturers confirm this. By price increases in raw materials, KVH in Germany has come under increasing price pressure. Especially in western Germany such problems were reported.
In the north and especially in the south of the country, manufacturers are preoccupied to satisfy demand at a generally adequate price level. In the south of Germany, as well as in Austria, the situation is more relaxed due to storm and beetle wood volumes which determine prices
