The China fibreboard industry has developed very quickly with large capital investments over the last ten years. China completed 20 new fibreboard production lines in 2015, adding 3 million m3 new production capacity. 27 fibreboard plants were built in China in 2014 adding around 4.4 million cubic metres of new annual capacity.

By the end of 2015, China operated about 667 fibreboard production lines totalling 50.9 million m3 of production capacity, a slightly drop of 0.6% from 2014.
