Austria: Sawlog prices significantly reduced

The Austrian sawmill industry is currently sufficiently stocked with logs and damaged wood is increasing. Due to the hot, dry summer, there is a correspondingly large amount of wood damaged by bark beetles, or resulted from storms. Although Upper Austria has so far been spared from major storms, the current situation has meant that roundwood prices have also been reduced here by ten to 15 euros per cubic metre.
