In June 2023, persistently low sales of sawn timber prompted the Austrian sawmill industry to further reduce its cuts. The demand for softwood sawlogs, which has been significantly reduced for weeks, is therefore continuing to decline. The roundwood requirement is primarily obtained from the existing warehouses or valid contracts. The supply is usually subject to quotas, which delays the removal.
