Orders in the Italian woodworking machinery industry went up 21.2% in 2Q/2016. The upward trend is driven by export sales where orders went up by 17.2%. Domestic demand is also positive (+30.4%) although the industry is still recovering from poor sales during the economic crisis.
“The Italian market is growing at satisfactory rates, but we are still far from pre-crisis levels. Abroad, instead, we are already back to pre-2008 volumes and everything suggests that this trend will endure," commented Dario Corbetta, Acimall (the Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association) director.
