Delayed EUDR compliance deadline: what forest product companies must do now

The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), originally set for implementation in December 2024, has been delayed by one year to allow businesses and authorities more time to prepare. The new deadlines for compliance are now December 30, 2025, for large enterprises and June 30, 2026, for small and medium-sized businesses. While the extension may appear to offer more time, companies in the forest product industries, such as pulp, paper, biomass, and solid wood, cannot afford to delay their preparation efforts.
