T3 Atlanta is the second T3 office building ("timber, transit, technology") for the developer Hines. The first T3 in Minneapolis was completed in 2016 and helped spark the mass timber “revolution” that is being seen around North America, and demonstrated that, through efficient design and construction, timber can be used competitively in large scale commercial office spaces.
The 7-storey T3 Atlanta project, at 205,000 sq ft timber area, will take over the previous T3 office building as the largest mass timber building in the US once built. The gravity system is comprised of DLT (dowel-laminated timber) floor and roof panels over a Glulam post and beam substructure. The lateral system consists of perimeter and internal steel brace frames, which StructureCraft is installing in sequence with the timber structure.
