Record areas of FSC-certified Russian forests

In October 2019, the area of ​​forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the number of FSC certificates for forest management and the supply chain reached record levels in Russia.

Monthly country statistics from FSC International showed that the area of ​​certified Russian forests has grown to 47.65 million ha, which is almost 25% of all FSC-certified forests on the planet (currently more than 200 million ha of forests are certified worldwide).

In addition, Russia continues to maintain advanced positions in other indicators. The country has become a leader in the number of issued certificates, the country has 186 (for example, Brazil has 131).

Also at the maximum level is the number of Russian supply chain certificates, Russia has 629 of them, and the country is ahead of Canada, which has 602 certificates. Given that some international companies have representative offices in Russia, this figure rises to 665.
