The tallest skyscraper in Stockholm to be build out of CLT

Stockholm, Sweden, will be home to its tallest skyscraper made entirely out of wood. More specifically, the building will be built out of cross-laminated timber (CLT). The "Trätoppen“ 40-floor building is designed by Anders Berensson Architects and will be built inside of a park car, according to Tech Insider.

"If we want to reduce the amount of cars in the city center of Stockholm and at the same time make space for more housing without building on green areas, then replacing car parks with housing, shops and restaurants feels obvious," said Anders Berensson.

The car park is a very famous place because it has the number of each floor displayed on its façade. The "Trätoppen“ will reach 436 meters high and will have its own apartments, shopping, restaurants, and private terraces. Each apartment is designed to be around 850 square feet.
The price for the construction hasn’t been established yet, but the building will be constructed with full energy efficiency. Also, the facade of the building will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the city below because of the wood's ability to store carbon in its walls, as reported by Tech Insider.
