EU expands sanctions to Russian paper products
The European Union has expanded the package of sanctions against Russia to include trade in paper, cardboard and pulp. Depending on the grade of paper, the ban may apply to imports or exports. The regulation, which entered into force the day after its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union on April 8, 2022, contains some exceptions, such as trade contracts signed before April 9, 2022. According to the official announcement of amendments to Regulation No. 833/2014 on restrictive measures in connection with Russia's actions destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, the Council of the European Union adopted Decision 2022/578 of April 8, 2022 amending Decision 2014/512/CFSP.
