Latvia: Exports of softwood lumber up 7.6% in Jan.-July 2024
In the first seven months of this year, Latvia exported forest industry products worth two billion euros, which is 1.4% less than in the corresponding period of 2023, according to the information released by the Latvian Ministry of Agriculture. Among them, wood and its products were exported in the seven months of 2024 worth 1.774 billion euros, which is 0.4% more than in the last seven months, and accounted for 88.7% (in the seven months of 2023 - 87.1%) of the total forest export values of industry production. Of wood and its products, softwood lumber exports accounted for 470.17 million euros, which is an increase of 7.6% compared to the corresponding period of last year, the export value of firewood was 372.787 million euros, which is an increase of 1.4%, the export value of roundwood increased by 5.1% and was 227.736 million euros, while the export value of plywood...
