Talion Terra, owned by STOD LLC, has recently launched its OSB line in test mode. The equipment is set at the company’s site in Torzhok (Tver region).
According to WhatWood, The OSB line produces 900-1000 m3 of panels daily on Dieffenbacher equipment, with rated capacity being 1618 m3 per day (500,000 m3 per year). Talin Terra already produces laminated veneer lumber (LVL) at the site in Torzhok (rated capacity is 150,000 m3), also using Dieffenbacher press, and fuel pellets (rated capacity is 60,000 tonnes).
The mill, which has become the sixth in Russia for the production of OSB, will use pine and aspen, 60% and 40%, as raw material, and it will make panels with emission class E1, thickness 6-40 mm, maximum width of 2800 mm, and maximum length of 6200 mm. The equipment allows to produce OSB with tongue-and-groove connection.
Kronospan-Egoryevsk and DOK Kalevala were among the five factories which were rated at a total capacity of 885,000 m3. Once with the launch of Kronospan-Mogilev mill in Belarus and the other companies, the market conditions changed, causing an end of the OSB imports into Russia.
