Pike Lumber Co., Indiana, has recently announced a $3.4 million investment to expand its Milan manufacturing facility. This expansion will double the company’s lumber production and create 15 jobs by 2020.
According to Inside Indiana Business, Pike Lumber plans to build a more than 27,000 square foot addition to its Milan facility, which will house a maintenance shop and new lumber handling and sawmilling equipment. Construction has already begun and the company expects the addition to be operational by December.
"We were pleased with the selection of Milan as the site for our third sawmill back in 2010," said Jim Steen, president of Pike Lumber.
Pike Lumber was founded in 1904 and has three facilities throughout Indiana in Akron, Milan and Carbon. The town of Milan has already approved additional incentives.
